Complaint DescriptionI have airtel prepaid connection with number 973****056. I had activated airtel GPRS service with the plan Rs 46 for 500 MB per 15 days. This service gets renewed automatically after every 15 days. I had been using GPRS service for last 2-3 months. I had recharged my account with a recharge of Rs 295 on 23rd November 2011. My balance was Rs 291 at the end of the day. It was the 15th day of the GPRS service. The service was supposed to renew very next day. At 12:45 am midnight (24th Nov) I downloaded a video song (Size was mere 20MB). For this download I was charged Rs 287. Next day I tried calling Airtel customer care for this issue, but they kept on saying the your service had been renewed and you have exceeded the download limit. Thats why they had charged me. But I didn't understand how come a song of mere 20MB size consumed whole 500MB. The customer care guy said that he is going to transfer my call to his senior and asked me to wait. But instead of connecting the call got disconnected. I again called customer care and repeated the same same story. That time, the guy connected me to his officer. But the officer also kept on telling that I have exceeded downloading. But somehow she understood my problem and refunded me Rs 100. As I lost around Rs 287, this amount was not enough. So she gave me a number of a nodal officer and asked me to contact him. I called on the number and explained him the problem. He asked me to be on hold for gathering the information but he never returned. The very strange part comes here, I again called the nodal officer. Instead of helping me out, he started shouting on me and asked me who has credited Rs100 amount in my account, he said that even this amount is illegaly credited and he was even going to deduct those 100 Rs too from my account. The reason given by him was that server renews my account at 3am in morning. But I had surfed after 12 am and before 3 am so I was charged. I asked him how come I would know about their system. The only thing I knew was my GPRS plan gets renewed exactly after 15days. How would I know at what time does their system works. Whenever I check for the validity, it only displays the date not the time. But he kept on saying that he is going to deduct Rs 100 which were credited by customer care guy to my account and then he hung up the phone. He was talking in such a rude manner, even illeterate person won't have talked like that. I never expected such kind of experience from Airtel. Somehow that officer didn't deduct those Rs100. But still I am facing a loss of Rs 187 and I don't have a single byte left in my GPRS account. Please help me out if you can.
