Complaint against Airtel resolved!
I applied for an Airtel broadband connection, which they failed to deliver for a month and then failed to accept a cancellation request for. They harassed me for the next six months, insisting the line had been installed (at an address I had vacated) and was active and that I hadn't been paying bills, even threatening legal action.
I filed a complaints with Airtel's customer service team a number of times, but each time they closed the complaint claiming they were not at fault, without listening to the details of the case. Even their nodal officer failed to act.
I finally approached Akosha and within days their customer service team waived all outstanding charges. Akosha put an end to months of harassment by Airtel for their faulty service.

Complaint Description
I applied for an Airtel internet connection for a one-day conference on October 1, 2011. I applied a month in advance to ensure it was ready on time, but Airtel did not deliver it. They setup the wiring, but with no internet. They finally came late afternoon on October 1 (the conference date) and gave me a connection for about three hours. I told them to cancel it because it was too late. The lineman took back the modem and removed the wiring. Now Airtel insists the line is still active and I have to pay dues for the past six months. This is despite that there is no connection on the ground. I have not acknowledged delivery and no instrument was handed to me. I've spent the past month trying to speak to someone at Airtel about this. A different person calls each day and says that something is so according to their records. First they pleaded with me to not cancel. Each time I insisted on it and next day another person would call to plead. I finally agreed to have the line activated a few months later at the next conference -- at no charge to me since it wasn't originally delivered. The caller thanked me and said he'd send an email confirmation of this. Next day, someone else at Airtel emailed to confirm that the line was cancelled, but I still had to clear unpaid dues. I replied asking why this was different from the previous day's resolution. I got no response. All of today I've been talking to one idiot after the other who say as per their records the line is active and therefore I have to pay. I'm fed up of this. Not one person at Airtel is willing to listen to the story. They just want to insist on what their records say.
